Meet the Teachers

KEYSTONE ACADEMY Grades 1&2; 3&4; Fine Arts/Drama

Elementary grades are taught by the mother-daughter team of Gwen Gurr and

Haley McAfee. Mrs. Gurr has homeschooled her three children since kindergarten and

has been an active member of the homeschool community. Her daughter Haley graduated

from UCF with a BA in theatre and education, her son Brian is at UCF, and her daughter

Lauren is a high school senior. Haley team taught grades 3-6 with Ceil Humphreys for a

year and has taught fine arts and drama for two years. Both ladies are experienced

teachers and have also produced, directed, and managed many theatrical productions in

their hometown of Orlando.

HUMPHREYS JUNIOR HIGH Grades 5&6; 7&8; Math grades 5, 6, 7, Pre-algebra

Ceil Humphreys has taught public, private, and home school for over 20 years. She started teaching

homeschool children in 1997. Her goal is to “light a fire of a love of learning” in her students and

provide a safe, happy environment in which they can learn. Using classical concepts and traditional

methods, Mrs. Humphreys weaves biblical principles and strategic thinking skills throughout her

lessons. Writing skills are stressed, including the writing of a research paper. Math classes are offered

for grades 5, 6, 7, and pre-algebra.

REDEEMER ACADEMY High School Classes and Upper Level Math

Will Colclasure has taught at Veritas Classical Academy in Atlanta and The Geneva School

in Orlando. He holds BA degrees in English Literature and Political Science from Mississippi

College and a Masters degree in International Affairs from FSU. Will spent a semester in

Austria studying political science and practicing his German language skills. His high school

program continues as set up by Scott Clifton, including Latin I and II, SAT prep, Logic,

and all humanities needed for graduation. He also offers upper-level math classes.

SCIENCE PARTNERS Science grades 3-8; High School Biology; Marine Science

Bill Clifton has taught science, Bible, and creationism classes for public, private, and home schools

for over 20 years. He seeks to instill in his students a passion for God’s creation by using his

background in science and theology, his instructional skills, and his teaching experience.

All science is taught from a creationist, biblical worldview while making students aware of other

worldviews, with the objective to teach students to see the Hand of the Creator in all of nature.

Classes are instructional, while stressing hands-on lab activities. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton also offer

Creation Adventures field trips and workshops.
